My kids loved this book! However... when they took it to school for show-and-tell, a few sensitive kids said this book was considered a "micro-aggression" and said it "hurt their feelings", then told my kids they couldn't bring it back to school. Wow. Just wow. This playful book rocks.
Great if you have a solid sense of humor and do not take yourself too seriously.People writing bad reviews saying they bought it for their kids and were shocked by it are ridiculous. They are giving a product a poor review because they lack the reading comprehension skills to read the item description and retain the information that it is not a children's book. Can't blame the product for your own lack of effort/understanding.
Knifeball is by far the funniest letter of the alphabet in this book. They are downhill to boring from there. I was hoping for most of the jokes in here to have the same edgy humor but instead they are bland for my taste. I bought this for a gag gift for my expecting wife. It was good for a one time look. Nothing worth rereading.
So, this book is hysterical and all—but maybe don't bring it to a family gift exchange and read it out loud. It's got a bit about a dying Grandma in it. So maybe don't read it in front of your aging and ailing Grandma.
This book is like "One Child Too Many", "All My Friends Are Dead", and "Go the F to Sleep". It's a funny satire of children's books (but for adults), and is perfect as a gift for a parent with a sense of humor. The graphic design is top-notch, and the commentary/story is a lot of fun. I bought a bundle of books for a new mom, and she really appreciated reading something that made light of the children's-book category.
camping with about 20 or so people we passed this book around and everyone read a page to the group. had so much fun it has started a new tradition with my friends at burning man... story time. the other side of the spectrum my mom and her retired friends also loved it.buy this book .... unless you have small kids..... buy it anyway, you probably need it, just don't let them read it
This book is hilarious! irs Definitely geared towards adults, but I think kids would enjoy it too as long as adults are sure to make sure their kids understand that it’s just a joke. Definitely a nice change of pace from all the other kids books that we read over and over! Nice quality book, too!
OMG! Laugh out loud funny! Things I’ve always wanted to say to kids, but thier parents would have killed me. If your kids are prone to violence or they are little s**t disturbers, do not buy this book. If they’re smart enough to know this is sarcasm, then they’ll love it!!
